Response Time
We strive to respond to all inquiries within 48 hours, Monday through Friday. During peak periods or holidays, responses may take slightly longer. Please note that we cannot provide personalized financial advice, tax guidance, or legal counsel — consult a licensed professional for those matters.
Privacy
Any information you provide when contacting us will be used solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. We do not add your email to a mailing list or share it with third parties. For details, see our Privacy Policy.
What We Can and Cannot Help With
We can explain how a calculator works, correct a figure or a source, fix a broken page, and point you to the primary source for a state fee, tax rate or federal rule. Those are the inquiries we are set up to answer well.
We cannot do three things, and it is worth being direct about them rather than disappointing you in a reply. We cannot advise on your specific purchase, loan or lease — that requires a licensed professional who knows your full financial picture. We cannot confirm what a dealer, lender or insurer will offer you. And we cannot resolve a dispute between you and a seller, manufacturer or carrier. For any of those, the right route is a licensed auto or finance professional, your state DMV, or the relevant regulator.
How Our Pages Are Sourced
Every figure we publish is either traced to a named primary source or derived from one, and pages carry a retrieval date so you can see how current they are. Vehicle specifications come from manufacturer data; fuel and electricity defaults come from published national averages; state taxes, fees and insurance figures come from state tables and are labelled as estimates. The underlying datasets are published in the open data library with their sources and dates.
Where a figure is a representative benchmark rather than an authoritative rate, we say so on the page rather than presenting it as fact. If a number on this site looks too confident for the evidence behind it, that is a correction worth sending us.
Accessibility and Technical Issues
The calculators are designed to run entirely in your browser without JavaScript tracking and without collecting the numbers you enter. If a calculator returns nothing, produces an obviously wrong result, or is unusable with a screen reader or at a heavy zoom level, please report it — include the page address, your browser and device, and what you expected to see. Those reports are among the most useful we receive, because a broken calculator affects every visitor and not just the person who noticed.
For a suspect calculation, the most helpful message states your inputs and the figure you expected, so we can reproduce it exactly rather than guessing at which field is misbehaving.
Corrections and Source Suggestions
Figures on this site carry a retrieval date and name their source, and rates, taxes and incentive programmes change. If something here disagrees with a primary source — a DMV fee schedule, an IRS publication, an EPA figure or a state statute — tell us which page, which figure and what the authoritative number is, and include a link if you have one. Corrections are the most useful messages we receive, and the primary source wins. Where a correction is substantive we would rather change the page than defend it.
Editorial Independence
VehCalc is free to use and supported by advertising. Advertising has no influence over what the calculators compute, what the guides say, or which options we compare. We do not sell placement in a recommendation, and we do not publish a ranking because a brand paid for one. Sponsored or affiliate relationships, where they exist, are disclosed on the page where they appear.
Partnership and Data Enquiries
If you publish research, build a product, or maintain a dataset that overlaps with ours, use the form above with Partnership in the subject line and describe what you have in mind. The datasets we publish are also available from the open data library, with sources and retrieval dates, so start there if you only need the raw numbers.
