EV energy use is rated in kWh/100 miles (or MPGe, where 33.7 kWh ≈ 1 gallon gasoline equivalent per DOE). Cost = (miles ÷ 100 × kWh/100 mi) × price per kWh. Home and public charging prices differ and change by utility and time of use.
